Website Considerations

When you make the decision to get yourself a website, it can be both exciting and overwhelming. There are steps you can take to help organize your thoughts. Time and time again you see people coming up with amazing designs, pleasing to the eye but end up having to make a lot of changes. So why does this happen? Let me explain;

The first thing you need to think about is who are you/what does your company do? You do not want to stray from your branding identity. Sometimes we get so creative we start to lose our branding in the design. You want your clients to recognize you at first glance. Stick with your branding colours throughout your site and use an appropriate font for your brand.

The next thing you need to think about is who are your customers? You need to tailor your website to meet your clients needs. Your customers should know how to find the information they need easily. The content on the website should be relevant to the product/service. Are your customers going to want to access your website with their mobile devices? More than likely, so for a greater user experience you’ll need a responsive site.

These are all important questions to ask yourself when designing your website. You need to keep your clients in mind at all times. After all, they are the ones who will be using your site the most. Make sure you have the right functionality and your clients do not get lost.

Now these are just some of the many things to consider when designing your first website, but it should be enough to get you started.
