Reasons Why Every Webmaster Should Use Google Webmasters Tools – Part 2

Another great feature that Webmaster Tools provides is the “Search Queries” feature. Each search query is broken down further and displayed in a table with the number of impressions (the number of times pages from your site appeared in search results) vs. the number of clicks, the click-through-rate (the percentage of impressions that resulted in a click to your site) and the average position (the average top position of your site on the search results page for that query). This is great for the webmaster to see which queries are bringing the most traffic to the site and they can focus on the most successful ones or optimize for other ones. This information can be broken down even further so the webmaster can view which page each query takes the users and so on. It even shows the percentage change over a specified period of time which gives information on whether the traffic to certain pages is increasing or decreasing. All this information can be filtered by location, specific queries, type of query performed (images, videos, etc.) or even impressions/clicks. To top it all off, all this information is downloadable for your records.
